Emergencies
You can come directly to one of our eye centers, or be referred by any doctor in an emergency with medical proof, subject to availability and depending on the seriousness of your situation.
Reasons for consultation
When do I need an emergency consultation?
The following cases require rapid referral to an ophthalmologist.
However, the medical and paramedical team reserves the right to set a waiting time of between 0 and 7 days, depending on the reason for consultation.
- Sudden change in vision (drop in visual acuity, blurred or distorted vision, etc.)
- Red and/or painful eyes
- Flash in the field of vision
- Known or suspected medical condition (retinal detachment, AMD, decompensated diabetes, etc.)
- Severe impact
- Foreign body in the eye
Priority is given to retinal emergencies (retinal detachment, vitreous hemorrhage, etc.).
How can you benefit from an emergency ophthalmological consultation?
Phone call
In case of emergency, we recommend that you call the Valence team on 04 75 75 02 40 or the Montélimar team on 04 75 97 22 51.
As our telephone lines are often overloaded, we invite you to contact us by e-mail at ophtalmovalence@gmail.com, specifying the reason for your emergency and your usual ophthalmologist.
