How is retinal surgery performed?

Preoperative examination :

This involves a thorough examination of your vision to ensure that you have no contraindications to the operation. The ophthalmologist will explain how the operation will be carried out and the post-operative recommendations.

Operation

Under locoregional anesthesia and continuous sedation, with an average operating time of 30 to 45 minutes, the ophthalmic surgeon will perform the procedure.

Post-operative follow-up :

Regular follow-up with the ophthalmologist (D3 and M12).

Visual recovery :

Visual recovery is fairly rapid for the first month, followed by a slower phase up to a year after the operation.
